Dream of a Common Lanauge Auditions
for Heather McDonald's Dream of a Common Language will take
place Saturday, August 28th (4-7pm) and Sunday, August 29th (7-10pm) at City Lit (1012 W. Bryn Mawr). We are seeking a diverse cast of of six: 2 men, 3 women, late 20s-40s. One woman, young-looking, 18-early 20s. Performances October 26th through November 18th.
Clovis: A painter who hasn't painted in some time. She has lost something of herself. Late 20s-30s, any race. This role requires some nudity (in the context of posing for a painting)
Pola: A painter. An eccentric, independent woman. Late 20s-40s, any race.
Dolores: A companion to Clovis and governess to Mylo. A comforting presence, but not grandmotherly. 20s-50s, any race.
Victor: A painter. A large, burly man with a powerful male energy. Husband of Clovis. Late 20s-40s, any race.This role requires some nudity (in the context of posing for a painting)
Marc: A painter a few years younger than the others. A fastidious man, he has a horror of being out of control. 20s, any race.
Mylo: Clovis & Victor's son. Something sad and lost about him. 9 years old (played by an adult, young-looking, 18-early 20s), any race.

CALL FOR PLAYS - 2011 LANDMARK FESTIVAL: Prologue Theatre Co. seeks new, short plays for the 2011 Landmark
Festival. Scripts should be approximately 10 minutes in length, and
relate to Prologue's season theme, Nudes: Women in Art. We encourage
you to think about untold stories from the past that are relevant to a
modern audience.

2010-2011 season. Plays should prominently feature a historical theme or
setting and give consideration to marginalized voices.

Prologue Theater Co is looking to collaborate with visual artists to build our upcoming season, "Nudes: Women In Art." Want help create and take part in events that would provide exposure for the visual arts (possibly your own work) and create unique and fun ways for the Chicago theater and visual art communities to interact? Production Staff Stage Manager: Prologue Theatre Co. seeks a stage manager for our production of Heather McDonald's Dream of a Common Language. Performances Tuesdays-Thursdays October 26th-November 18th. Rehearsals begin mid-September on weekday evenings and some weekends, approximately 15 hrs/week. Small stipend available. Need to be organized, proactive, and possess a healthy sense of humor. We're not jerks, and we prefer to work with people who aren't jerks.
Costume designer: Prologue Theatre Co. seeks a costume designer for our production of Heather McDonald's Dream of a Common Language.
Performances Tuesdays-Thursdays October 26th-November 18th. Cast of 6, period costumes (1870s). Small stipend available. Need to be organized, handy with a small budget,
and possess a healthy sense of humor. We're not jerks, and we prefer to
work with people who aren't jerks.
